Our Chairman, Shri Santhosh Lad was holding a responsible position of Honerable Ministry of Labour & Skill Development, Information and infrastructure heading Karnataka's federal ministry which is responsible to protect and safeguard the interest of workers in general and the poor, deprived and disadvantaged sections of the society. The Ministry aims to create a healthy work environment for higher production and productivity and to develop and coordinate vocational skill training and employment
Mr. Lad entered politics accidentally. His maiden entry was by contesting By-elections for the Sandur Town Panchayat. Lad started his political career a counselor from Sandur taluk. He had very little success in taluk panchayat elections, where he lost marginally in his first election. He went on to win both seats he contested in the following election, contributing to his party gaining the majority during that period. He again stood for the Panchayat Elections from two places and won both the seats. He was also instrumental in his party obtaining the majority in Panchayat Elections. This heralded the beginning of his political career.
In 2004, Mr. Lad won from Sandur in Bellary District with a huge margin of 35,000 votes. He was one of the youngest members of the Legislative Assembly at the age of 29. He was accepted by his people as their able representative for the hard work and the support his family has been providing even before entering active politics. He currently is an active member and represents Indian National Congress.
Mr.Santosh Lad, Minister of State for Information and Infrastructure, Govt. of Karnataka& team of officials had been given responsibility of relief work and brings back the pilgrims of Karnataka safely who were struck in Uttrakhand Flash floods which struck in June 2013 and he and his team successfully rescued more than 200 peoples.
On 15th July 2013 the Legislative Council of Karnataka passed a resolution to congratulate Mr. Lad for his efforts in bringing back the pilgrims of Karnataka who were stranded due to flash floods in Uttrakhand.
On 15th August 2013 Government of Karnataka felicitated Mr. SantoshLad & his team by awading a Medal on the occasions of Independence Day for the outstanding, selfless and dedicated efforts put by Mr. SantoshLad &his team in bringing back safely and quickly, the pilgrims of Karnataka. who were struck due to floods in Uttrakhand.
